........NETTUNO......After our week in Rome, Settimio and I were driven an hour away to Nettuno by Antonio (his brother-in-law)---whose driving made me (sitting in the back seat) a little dizzy and carsick, ....not his fault, he's just a typical male Italian driver! LOL - So when we finally arrived, I was very happy, as the fresh air helped a lot. Their house is HUGE, and GORGEOUS, inside and out, and has skylights in the upstairs bathroom and bedroom. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (all with a BIDET of course - such a WONDERFUL INVENTION!) I don't know why this idea didn't "catch on" in America! Strangely enough though, *many* bathrooms in Italy do NOT have toilet SEATS on their toilets, and the toilet bowls are in the shape of a square! (Not oval or round). Interesting and different....something that surprised us a lot.

Their house also has a beautiful patio which wraps around the whole house, and is pink, just like the house itself. And the yard is very large, way over an acre I'd say, though these photos don't show the size, believe me, their dog PENNY must be in Seventh Heaven! The last picture in this group shows Silvia, my niece, trying to teach her "old dog new tricks", which isn't working because even though he isn't that old (8 years), he is very lazy - and NOT exactly the athletic type (I think Romana feeds him too many treats from what I saw of that AND the dog, but she claims it's because he's "neutered"!) He is a sweet and loyal dog though. There are pictures down below of a few of the many exotic plants and trees in their yard. Settimio & I stayed here a week, but Sonia & Claudio stayed with them only the final 2 days of our trip, since they were in Spain during that week.
